Inside Line Promotions – WILMOT, Wis. (July 11, 2022) – Robbie Price was set up to record a career-best World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series result last Saturday at Wilmot Raceway.
Price guided the Sides Motorsports No. 7s to the second quickest qualifying time before he posted a runner-up result in a heat race to advance into the dash.
“When you qualify well the rest of the night is way easier,” he said. “We qualified well and we were decent in the heat race.”
Unfortunately, Price drew the highest number – eight – during the dash redraw to line up last. He finished in that position to start on the outside of the fourth row in the A Main.
“It was hard to make something happen in the dash,” he said. “Then in the main I got caught up in someone’s mess. Someone hit the bottom and slid up. He got into Brad Sweet and got sideways. I was right there with nowhere to go and we ended up flipping. We’re building a new car for this week.”
The DNF marked the only event of the weekend as a race on Friday at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, rained out.
The team returns to action with five consecutive nights of racing this week beginning on Tuesday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, for the Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic. Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, then welcomes the Outlaws for The Historical Big I and the Kings Royal during a four-day stretch spanning Wednesday through Saturday.
“I’m excited for it, but it’s just me and Jay out here so it’s going to be a grind,” Price said. “I struggled the last time I was at Attica, but that was the first time I was in the car. And I’ve been to Eldora once. We’ll see how it goes. Four nights in a row makes it easier to get better.”
