September 26, 2024 – Bristol, WI. Action wrapped up this past weekend for the Lift Pro Powered by Gandrud Chevrolet Winged 604 Sprint Car Series during the 3 – day Fall Classic.
Thursday night’s action kicked off with Victory Chaser points contender Tommy Sexton of Twin Lakes, WI laying down the fastest lap in qualifying earning him the night’s first point. Two more Victory Chaser contenders kept the points chase close as Hebron, IL’s Ion Stear and Johnsburg, IL’s CJ Malueg both took Heat Race Wins earning both drivers 2 – points. In the Feature, Burlington, WI’s Matt Vandervere once again found Victory Lane garnering 3 – points for his efforts. Allen Hafford of Beach Park, IL passed 5 – competitors in the Feature earning his first point of the season.
Friday night saw Thursday night’s feature winner stay hot as Vandervere would click off the fastest qualifying lap earning a point and then followed that up with a Heat Race Win to gain 2 – more points, but also keeping him in the running for bonus points if he could sweep the feature. Stear would claim the other Heat Race earning him 2 – points as well. Vandervere would be unsuccessful at the Clean Sweep point as Brian Kristan of Zion, IL would earn his 1st Feature Win of the season earning him 3 – points for his win. Elle Hensley of Trevor, WI would pass 8 – cars in the Feature earning her the night’s Hard Charger Award, awarding her with a point.
Saturday Night’s Fall Classic Finale would line up a sole feature lined up by the previous 2 – night’s points that were accumulated. Sexton would end the Feature in Victory Lane for the 4th time in 2024 earning him 3 – points to move the #83 back into 2nd in the Hepfner Racing Products/HRP Wings Victory Chaser Standings. Malueg would charge forward 8 positions in his #13 sprinter in the Feature earning him a point for picking up another Hard Charger Award and also solidifying him as the 2024 Hepfner Racing Products/HRP Wings Victory Chaser Challenge Champion!
In 2024, CJ Malueg would collect 4 – Quick Time Awards, 4 – Heat Race Wins, 3 – Feature Wins, and 4 – Hard Charger Awards to accumulate 25 – total points to take the overall Championship.
Tommy Sexton would collect 1 – Quick Time Award, 3 – Heat Race Wins, 4 – Feature Wins, and 1 – Hard Charge Award to accumulate 20 – total points to finish 2nd in the overall Victory Chaser Points Challenge.
Ion Stear would collect 1 – Quick Time Award, 6 – Heat Race Wins, and 2 – Feature Wins to accumulate 19 points to round out the Top 3 in the overall Victory Chaser Points Challenge.
