Chris Klemko of Bristol battled back and forth with Rod Colburn of New Berlin throughout much of the caution plagued main. The most serious incident came near the 10-lap mark when fast qualifier Todd Lehr of Kokomo, Indiana spun and collected Jimmy Sivia of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois resulting in Lehr flipping and landing his car upside down. Neither driver was injured but both cars were eliminated for the event.
Klemko worked his way in front of Colburn on the restart only to have it erased due to a caution. Colburn and Klemko battled back and forth for several laps until a final yellow flew with Klemko in front and two laps remaining. On the restart Hafford, who had worked his way into second just prior to the caution, shot into the lead when Klemko hit the inside edge of the track coming out of turn two and nearly spun. At the finish it was Hafford winning his second career feature, with both having come this season. Klemko scored a career best runner-up with Doug Schenck of Cottage Grove third, Derek Crane of Waukegan, Illinois fourth and Nick Petska of Spring Grove, Illinois fifth.
