IRA ANNOUNCES 2018 WISCONSIN wingLESS SPRINT SERIES Schedule
12/26/17 The 4th edition of IRA’s Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Series demonstrates how far this unique series has come in such a short time. Something that was only an idea just over three years ago is set to go trackside for their 4th season. A schedule of opportunity exists, beginning with 22 full point events contested at 5 different facilities. Wilmot Raceway, which is home for the series, will host 13 point events, while Angell Park Speedway is home for 4, with Beaver Dam Raceway and 141 Speedway having two each. And the series full point season finale will again be part of the 4-sprint division Wisconsin Sprint Car Championships at the Plymouth Dirt Track.
All five of the above venues have events in which the wingLESS group will share the card with their big brothers of the Bumper To Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series. This combination will run together on 9 occasions, 5 of which will include IRA’s WIMS Mini Sprints too, creating a 3 sprint division program which will surely be fan favorites. One of those will be Saturday night of the Kenosha County Fair. The wingLESS bunch will be included again as part of Wilmot’s World of Outlaw date too! And the wingLESS crew will also be part of the annual Pepsi Nationals event at Angell Park with the POWRI/Badger National Midgets.
And for those teams that want to race more than the 22 points shows, the group has several (non-point) co-sanctioned opportunities, including dates with the UMSS Traditional Sprints, the POWRI Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League, and the Midwest Sprint Car Association in a unique 2nd year event. UMSS has invited WI wingLESS teams up to Cedar Lake Speedway April 5-7, and again Aug 24-25. UMSS has also extended an invite to their July 13th race at Spring Lake Speedway too. The POWRI/WAR group will be coming to WI for the first time ever with a Wilmot / Angell Park combo Aug 4-5. And the MSA group will shed their wings at Wilmot again this Sept 15th as part of the big “Wildman” Watson Memorial. Stay tuned for another “possible” late season announcement too!
The first Wisconsin wingLESS Sprint Series point race will go green at Beaver Dam Raceway on April 21st.
