Bill Balog utilized his pole starting position in Sunday night’s 20 lap feature to dominate the field and pick up his 2nd career Autometer Wisconsin wingLESS series presented by the IRA victory during Angell Park Speedways Pepsi Nationals.
32 teams signed in for action at Angell Park on Sunday night for the Pepsi Nationals. Doug Schenck set quick time behind the wheel of his 71s machine. 2nd quick would be Tim Cox with Allen Hafford in 3rd. Randy Stanford and Derek Crane would time in 4th and 5th respectively.
Heat 1 would be claimed by Doug Schenck who started 4th. Zack Raidart would finish in 2nd followed by Jimmy Kouba, Saturday night’s Wilmot raceway feature winner Nathan Crane finished in 4th ahead of Nick Petska.
The 2nd heat race would be picked up by Ryan Zielski. Tim Cox brought his Dons Auto car home in 2nd trailed by Derek Crane and Tyler Tischendorf. Paul Shaffer rounded out the top 5.
Heat 3 was dominated by a pair of IRA winged 410 regulars as Matt Vandervere picked up the win over Bill Balog. Jake Kouba would finish in 3rd over Greg Olson and Jimmy Sivia.
The B main was claimed by Allen Hafford over Dennis Spitz. Rod Colburn brought his Harley Davidson number 1 machine home in 3rd followed by Chris Klemko and Johnny Fahl.
The A main saw Bill Balog jump out form his pole starting position to the lead. Balog would dominate the 20 lap feature, leading all laps to claim his 2nd career wingLESS series win and first of the 2018 season. Doug Schenck would drive into the 2nd position but didn’t appear able to challenge Balog for the lead, and would settle for 2nd. Matt Vandervere moved from the 8th starting position to 3rd place at the finish. Tim Cox would claim fourth place honors and in 5th place was 12th starting Jimmy Kouba.
