Inside Line Promotions – ROSSBURG, Ohio (May 14, 2019) – A trio of bullrings is on tap for Greg Wilson this weekend.
Wilson and his Hercules Tires, DNC Hydraulics, Ohio Logistics and Gear Off Road backed team will join the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions for events on Friday at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis.; on Saturday at Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wis.; and on Sunday at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis.
“I’ve been to Wilmot and Angell Park, but it will be my debut at Plymouth,” he said. “They’re all tiny bullrings. I’m excited to do some short track racing three nights in a row. When I’ve been there before we’ve done pretty well on the short track stuff, especially there they get pretty racy and seem to fit what we do.”
Wilson earned an 11th-place result last year at Wilmot Raceway during a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series show.
He charged from 23rd to 16th in 2016 during his debut at Angell Park Speedway.
“I hope the weather holds off so we can get all the racing in,” he said. “It’s been a tough year weather-wise. Last weekend I felt like the second night we changed stuff up and could have learned something, but it didn’t happen because of being rained out.”
Wilson tackled a World of Outlaws event at Eldora Speedway last weekend. Following a rough outing on Friday he had high hopes to gain on his program Saturday, but the race rained out during the heat races.
“We’ve changed some things and I’m not sure if it will be better or worse,” he said. “I felt like after Friday our qualifying time hurt us, but we weren’t necessarily way off. The track was good all night long. It made it really hard to make up spots and recover. On Saturday we changed some stuff and got qualifying in. We weren’t very good and I went in a different direction. As limited as we’ve been racing you have to take pretty big swings at it to figure out what’s going on. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to learn as much with rain cancelling the night early.”
