In June 8 First Responders Night action, Tim Cox of Park City, Illinois wins leading flag to flag in the 20-lap feature..
"I didn't want to stick to the low side, but decided I would make them go around me," said Cox after winning his first Wilmot feature since 2017. "The car was set up perfect so I just stuck with it."
Cox led wire to wire, but not without pressure during the closing laps. Davey Ray of Davenport, Iowa worked his way into contention on a final restart using every bit of the 1/3-mile especially in the banked corners. On the white flag lap, Ray drifted over the outside rim in turn three ending up spinning and going from a possible last turn win to placing 21st in the 24-car field. Trevor's Chris Dodd, a first responder himself who is a fireman, took second, Allen Hafford of Beach Park, Illinois third. Zach Raidart of Antioch, Illinois fourth and Jimmy Sivia of Winthrop Harbor fifth.
