(Wilmot, Wis.)--The 2nd Annual Dennis Carlton Tribute for the street stocks at Wilmot Raceway is rescheduled for Saturday, July 27.
Joining the street stocks on the five division program are the AutoMeter Wisconsin WingLess Sprints, IRA Lightning Sprints, Modifieds and Bandit 4-Cylinder Stock Cars.
The originally scheduled special honoring the former Wilmot race car driver and sponsor was cancelled on Saturday, July 20 due to initially dangerously high temperatures and heat indexes which were then followed by heavy storms which struck the Kenosha County Fairgrounds facility and caused damage in several surrounding communities. This marked the sixth racing event lost to weather this season.
Don's Garage of Trevor, which Dennis Carlton owned at the time of his passing in 2018, sponsors the special event.
July 27 will feature Wilmot Raceway's Military Appreciation Night with all active military and veterans who present identification at the ticket office admitted to the grandstands as guests of Wilmot Raceway and the Kenosha County Fair Association.
Special pre-race ceremonies and activities are being planned. Grandstands open at 5:00 p.m. with hot laps slated for 6 p.m. and racing to follow. Grandstand admission is $15.00 for ages 12 and over, $5.00 for ages 7-11, with ages 6 and under admitted free.
