(Wilmot, Wis.)--WIlmot Raceway is gearing up for the traditional Kenosha County Fair running Wednesday, August 14 through Sunday, August 18. To prepare the facility there will be no racing the weekend of August 10.
Persistent rains which hit the Raceway for two hours late in the afternoon cancelled the August 3 Founders Night and Bill Klein Tribute for the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association (IRA) Outlaw Winged Sprints. The cancellation marks the seventh race program lost to weather this season.
Wilmot Raceway's facility will be used daily during the fair. Beginning on Wednesday, August 14 features Digger Doug's UTV and ATV stadium races with practice at 5:30 p.m. and races at 6:30 p.m. Truck & tractor pulls along with the combine demolition derby are slated Thursday, August 15 starting at 6:00 p.m..
Modifieds, street stocks, Bandit 4-cylinder stock cars plus a Monster Truck show by BIGFOOT are on the card for the 1/3-mile clay oval Friday, August 16. Grandstand admission on Friday is $5.00 in addition to the regular fair ticket price.
The Roger Iles Tribute for the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association (IRA) Sprint Cars highlights Saturday, August 17. The 2nd Annual Bill Grogan Memorial for the AutoMeter Wisconsin WingLess Sprints is on the program. Motorcycle engine powered IRA Lightning Sprints completes the all sprint car show. Saturday grandstand admission is $8.00 in addition to the regular fair ticket.
Grandstands open Friday and Saturday at 5 p.m. with racing scheduled to get underway at 6:45 p.m.
The fair winds down on Sunday afternoon, August 18 with the traditional fair ending International Demolition Derby starting at 1:00 p.m.
