4/18/20 Wilmot Raceway Update: There really isn't any changes in our plans since we last updated. Wilmot Raceway, like all race tracks in WI, are under state government mandates due to COVID-19. The Governor has extended the SaferAtHome mandate thru May 26th, so with that being said, we can't open to host events or practices, through May 26th.... at this point. While May 26th is later than all our surrounding states, "nearly" all states currently have some type of date restriction in place. A few WI tracks have received permission to do single car tests, but those are primarily pavement tracks as they don't require track prep and are more cost effective for the venue. Wilmot Raceway, as a member of the Promoters Of Wisconsin Auto Racing (POWAR) group, is in constant contact with race tracks throughout our state, and actually throughout the entire country. We are looking at ways we can present a safe plan that will allow us to, first have enough cars on site to justify hosting practices, and then lead us to eventually putting on events with spectators. We all must come up with a plan that will meet the guidelines to satisfy both our state & local Government and Health officials. All we can say is that we are not in this alone. So Wilmot Raceway will be ready when we get the green light, and we'll do updates as we learn things. The Kenosha County Fair is in talks with fellow Fairs throught the state, and country too. Hopefully things continue to improve, and that May 26th date will be lifted, atleast for a practice. But for now, this is our life. We certainly hope everyone and their loved ones are healthy and safe. And we also hope everyone's financial well being is secure too, and that your businesses and jobs survive. We sincerely can't wait to see everyone, even if those big smiles we'll all have just because we're back at the track, are hidden by the masks we're likely going to be forced to wear.
