(Wilmot, WI, Tuesday, June 30, 2020)--A pair of first time feature winners highlighted Wilmot Raceway's Tuesday, June 30 Fireworks Spectacular.
Bristol's Chris Klemko ended a 6-year drought by scoring a hard fought win in the first of two features for the Autometer/Brewington Electric Wisconsin Wingless Sprints. Klemko's late dad, a Wilmot champion in the 1980s, would have been proud of the run his son had winning his first ever main event. Oconomowoc's Ryan Zielski was second with defending Wilmot Champion Jimmy Sivia of Winthrop Harbor, IL third.
In a makeup feature from June 13 which was held over due to curfew that night, Sivia became the fourth different Wingless feature winner in as many outings for the division this season. Sivia held off a hard charging second place Derek Crane of Waukegan for the victory. Chris Klemko closed out his night with a third place.
Sheboygan's Joel Seegert brought his family run and sponsored modified to his first ever Wilmot feature win. Seegert's win came over two-time Wilmot Champion Genoa City's Mike Simons as the pair battled throughout the closing laps. Simons ended up second. Eagle's Steve Mueller was third. Seegert became the fourth different modified feature winner this season.
Next up for the 1/3-mile clay oval after taking the July 4 holiday weekend off, is the traditional Badger 40 for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series on Saturday, July 11. A Wingless Sprint Invitational is on the card as well. Grandstands open at 5:00 p.m. with on track activity at 6:00 p.m. and racing to follow.
The World of Outlaws/World Racing Group is leasing Wilmot Raceway for the event and handling all ticket sales.
