After a week off, the teams of the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association(IRA) prepare to do battle once again, as this weekend features a pair of races. Saturday July 1st the series returns to Wilmot Raceway, then on Sunday July 2nd they head to 141 Speedway. Saturday the IRA returns to its birth place, the Wilmot Raceway. The series was last there on June 10th, when fans saw history as Matt Vandervere scored his first career victory after holding off Bill Balog on multiple restarts....more

Chris Klemko was 3rd with Nick Petska in 4th. Inaugural wingLESS champion Doug Schenck was 5th. Tim Cox of Park City, Illinois became the third different 20-lap Interstates Racing Association (IRA) wingLESS Sprints feature winner at Wilmot this season. Leading wire to wire Cox held off repeated challenges from Derek Crane of Waukegan, Illinois who finished second and Doug Schenck of Cottage Grove who was third. Schenck earlier set a new track qualifying record of :15.070 seconds for the one-third mile clay oval.

Despite waking up to sunny skies this morning, Saturday's forecast and the liklihood of rain, combined with high temperatures only in the 40's, Wilmot Raceway has decided to postpone their 2017 season opener and are cancelling tomorrow April 29th. The long range forecast has several dry days in it for next week which we could use to get more work done on the various projects going on at the speedway. 20 drivers for the Wisconsin wingLESS series presented by the IRA showed up to do battle on the high banks of the Beaver Dam Raceway.
