Mother Nature dampens race night

Wilmot Raceway was blessed with some great racing Saturday night, however it was Mother Nature who dampened the night in the end as the final two races of the evening fell to the wet stuff. Point battles are tight and now all will be decided this Saturday September 15th as season championships in the Modified, Street Stock, and 4 Cylinder classes will be determined.
The scheduled finale scheduled for this coming Saturday should be a fan favorite as there is certainly something for everyone, and definitely plenty of drama to be played out. The Don’s Auto Parts & Machine / Hoosier Tire Modifieds, and R.A. Adams Enterprises / Advance Auto Parts Street Stocks will compete in complete shows, while the Massive Speed Pro 4′s & Hawg Heaven Bandit 4′s will contest their Championship A-main after having it fall to rain this past week. All those championships will be settled Saturday! Additionally we have a very special night for Late Model Stock Car fans as we’ll feature both the highpowered Late Models of today and yesterday as the WDLMA Late Models will be making their “popular” annual appearance, plus a very special inaugural appearance of the Tibor Illinois Vintage Stock Cars. This is a tremendous way to end a very successful season of racing at the Kenosha County Fairs’ Wilmot Raceway.

While the Streets & 4′s had their feature events rained out on Sept 8th, the Fec’s Place / Outlaw Race Parts Mini Sprints, and Modifieds did get their A-main events in. The Mod action had the #88 of Jim Morrison grab another win in a thriller over current Mod point leader Scott Kuxhouse. Mike Simons Jr edged Mike Sullivan for 3rd in a photo finish, while Jason Hyerdall came home a very solid 5th. Jeff Bodendorfer continued his strong second half of the season with another solid finish coming home 6th, as Mike Conn, Phil Rehberg, Scott Barnharst, and John Dost completed the top 10. Championship contender Chris Carlson was a DNF setting the stage for a big Modified Championship Night this Saturday.

Mini Sprint Results will be posted upon receipt of the official results from WIMS.

Come join us for what is sure to be a Wilmot Championship Night to remember featuring WDLMA Late Models, Tibor Illinois Vintage Stock Cars, plus Championship night for the Mods, Streets, 4′s.
