More Info about September 15th Racing

Additional info regarding this Saturday Night’s Championship Season Finale at Wilmot Raceway…However first we want to congratulate Nick Petska for winning the 2012 Fec’s Place / Outlaw Race Parts Mini Sprint Championship. Nick topped Mark Heinart, Andrew Kiedrowski, Tim Brannam, and Randy Reed in the points chase. Congratulations to all in the Mini Sprint division. The class has really exploded over the past couple of years and Wilmot Raceway is proud to be the home of Mini Sprint racing in the region, and most importantly we want everyone to know that Wilmot Raceway WILL BE running Mini Sprints on a regular basis again in 2013.

In regards to the Mini Sprint race held on September 8th, congrats go out to Nick Sheridan as he picked up the win. Nick has competed a “very partial” schedule in 2012 but has proved to be fast each time out. Nick was able to top “newly crowned” track champion Nick Petska for the win. Randy Reed, Matt White, and Doug Johnson rounded out a very fast top five, while Kyle Daywalt, Mark Heinart, John Kirk, Nick Daywalt, and Kyle Koch completed the top 10. Again congratulations AND thanks Mini Sprint drivers & teams for the tremendous support!

As for this Saturday Sept 15th. To be eligible to compete this Saturday in the SS & Mod divisions, you must have competed in a regular Wilmot Raceway event (not a special) and earned Wilmot track points thus appearing on the point sheet. The updated points will be posted today. We have some great point battles, not just for the respective championships but throughout the top 10 (plus). So not only division titles are on the line, but point fund check positions too. Based on our solid car counts, and large number of regular supporters, that is our reasoning for the eligibility requirements for our Championship Night.

Also as a reminder Street Stocks, payout from last week will be made at pill draw Saturday  and the 20 cars scheduled to start the A will split the total A-main purse, thus $90 per car. Because payout on last week is being made, there are no refunds on tickets or wristbands. New pit passes will have to be purchased as once the prelim events are complete, and payout is being made…. the night is considered complete.

As for the F4 division Saturday. After long deliberation among our staff, and the reality that this
division is a entry level class and not all positions are paid positions, we have simply decided that from a cost standpoint to the teams, we will honor 3 wristbands per F4 team that signed in last Saturday, they are to exchange those wristbands for new ones at the pit shack. Being that the Championship A-main did go green prior to the rain postponing the conclusion of that race, it was decided to take the 13 cars that actually started the A-main last Saturday by taking the green flag, and run them in their make up Championship feature this Saturday. We know this may not make every team happy, but being that this race was just 2-3 laps from the half way point and being deemed complete, and the division wasn’t scheduled for any more race dates, it has been determined that this is the fairest way to handle this situation.

So please join us Saturday for what should be a great night of racing as we go green and decide championships in our Mod, SS, and F4 divisions, plus bring on full shows for the  fendered bullets of the WDLMA Late Models, and the wonderful show pieces of the Tibor Illinois Vintage Stock Car Series.
