Wilmot, WI, July 7, 2012: Thrills, spills and plenty of racing action kept fans on the edge of their seat as Wilmot Raceway presented Antioch Night at the races featuring Paul Stender’s Jet Rocket Thrill Show. The thrill show provided fans with flame throwing rocket car action while the weekly competitors at Wilmot Raceway presented their own fireworks with wheel to wheel racing action in three classes.

Jimmy Morrison would collect his first Don’s Auto & Machine / Hoosier Tire Modified main event of the 2012 season fending off the challenges of defending division champion Chris Carlson after starting the contest in the seventh position. In picking up the win Morrison earned $950 courtesy of bonuses from Sevik Motorsports and track volunteer Dale Bennett.

Though Morrison denied Carlson a trip to victory lane, Carlson was able to extend his point lead in the division as he attempts to defend his 2011 championship.

Joel Crowbridge who won the Modified main event two weeks ago would settle for third position, followed by last week’s feature winner Scott Kuxhouse. Jason Hyerdall would complete the top five finishers.

Charlie Pinkalla continued his winning ways in the R.A. Adams / Advance Auto Parts Street Stocks where he captured his third consecutive feature victory and further padded his point lead in the division. Pinkalla had started outside the front row leading a majority of the contest enroute to the victory. Rob Maule who currently sits second in the standings charged from his eighth place starting spot but was unable to reel in Pinkalla and had to settle for second place honors.

Dustin Holland would finish in the third position followed by Ronnie Mink and Mark Baker. With the large turnout of cars this evening eleven participants turned out for the B-main and event which was captured by Douglas Engleking. Bradley Norgard finished second in the B-main event and was the highest finishing of the transfer cars into the A-main where he finished eleventh.

Dustin Richards in his first 4 cylinder appearance at the raceway in 2012 would capture the Pro 4 feature race over Ryan Andrews. Vince Heywood proved to be best in the Bandit division taking the win over Kris Rigert.

Saturday night July 14th see plenty of open-wheeled racing action at Wilmot Raceway as a full program featuring Powri & Badger NATIONAL Midgets will be taking place. In addition to the area’s best midget action both Mini & Micro Sprints will be taking to the raceway. Plus for those wanting a little fender with their racing action both Modified and Street Stocks will be participating in Feature Invitationals.

It should also be noted that several drivers will be donating their winnings from that evening’s race program to the Heartofgoldcharity.org, the charity strives to provide resources for families dealing with the overwhelming effects of congenital heart defects and HLHS. Heart defects account for one percent of all problems that families and their newborns encounter after birth.

Drivers who intend to donate their winnings include Street Stock racers Rob Maule, Brad Norgard,

Chuck Shear and Craig Mertes. Jason Hyerdall from the Modified division will also be donating his winnings as will Nick Petska in the Mini-Sprints. Sponsors of the Maule and Norgard machines will also match the winnings and donate that amount to Heartofgoldcharity.org.

Special event pricing will be in effect with adult admission $15 for the show. Those with a military ID receive $5 off their admission and children ages 8 through 11 can attend for just $5. Children 7 and under will be admitted free with an accompanying adult.
