Felker hopes to add more points at Wilmot

By Bryan Gapinski Wilmot, Wis., July 8—Missouri’s Andrew Felker returns to Wilmot Raceway on Saturday Night July 13 aiming for a repeat victory in the Seventh annual “Salute to Harry Turner”. The event will feature the Stark Automotive Group/Mid-State Equipment Badger Midget Series & Lucas Oil POWRi Midget Series. Pits open at 3:00 p.m., grandstands at 5:00 p.m., practice begins at 6:00 p.m.,with racing to follow. Racing action will also include the Badger 600 Micro Series, with the tracks Street Stocks, Mini Sprints and Four Cylinder divisions participating. Felker who has started twenty-five midget feature already this season finds himself aiming for four midget championships during the 2013 season, with his worst standing currently third place at the mid-season mark.

Felker holds a one-point lead in the Badger points over three-time Badger Champion Brad Kuhn. The defending Powri Champion holds a size able lead over Zach Daum in POWRi points. In the National Midget Driver of the Year Points Felker is currently in second place, out of 377 drivers trailing Christopher Bell by 66 points. Felker is in third place in the USAC National Midget Series points. Felker’s two previous Wilmot races have netted him a 12th place finish in 2011, and the victory in last year’s Turner event.

The following evening action for both series moves to Angell Park Speedway (Sun Prairie, Wis.), for the 77th Anniversary season race for the Badger at the famed 1/3-mile oval.
