The Wilmot Raceway has several big events coming up in the next several weeks, beginning with the annual Powri / Badger Midget Salute To Harry Turner headliner this Saturday, July 13th, which we’ll draw some of the top open wheel racers in the midwest and an event that shouldn’t be missed. Then the big IRA / All-Star Sprint Challenge which puts IRA’s best against the likes of national stars like Dale Blaney and Tim Shaffer for big money is on July 20th, followed by the 3rd annual Tommy Homan Memorial on July 27th which showcases our weekly Wilmot classes. BUT we couldn’t wait any longer to make it official, “Smoke” Tony Stewart will be competing in the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint portion of the Friday August 16th Kenosha County Fair race program aboard his Chevrolet Performance #14 sprinter. Let’s hope for good weather not only here, but in Michigan too as the 3-time NASCAR Champion will be flying over after qualifying his Sprint Cup car at Michigan International Speedway late that afternoon, so let’s hope nothing delays his arrival. What a great Fair weekend of racing as the annual Roger Iles Tribute IRA event headlines Saturday night creating a GREAT weekend doubleheader. More details to come….
